Ah, Nepenthe. I was telling Scott while sitting on the patio of Nepenthe, in the 80 degree sun, looking over the edge of the cliff onto blue ocean waters, that this 'feels like home'. It just does. Something about Big Sur is just so comforting and exhilerating at the same time. I can see myself living there. And of course, Nepenthe is awesome!! They do weddings too, but only up to 80ppl with a site fee of $4000. Then, on top of that you have to rent all the linens, flatware, stemware, etc. Would add up quick - but you just can't beat that view!!! I'm in love.

ohhh, love nepenthe! lucky girl getting married in big sur...
This place looks nice!! Bummer about the size and the high site fee! CUTE pic of your and Scott! I think you SHOULD move to Big Sur someday. Then you get tons of land and raise a million animals like we talked about!
Hi "Big Sur Bride",
Your blog is awesome. I too just got engaged and am starting to plan a Big Sur wedding. Finding info isn't the easiest and your blog is sooo helpful- I love all the photos. When are you gettin' married?
Thanks for sharing your research and insights...and great photos!

hi! i'm from southern california and recently got engaged in big sur. my dream is to get married there, and i am trying to figure out if it will be feasible from so far away. as another follower mentioned, it is so difficult to find information about the area and your blog is so helpful. i love your ideas!
i wanted to ask you specifically about the cute wooden 'save the date' on your blog. do you know where this came from? i absolutely love it and want to find out about the cost.
have you guys decided on your location for sure? did you ever go look at the paion house? i have also been in contact with diane allen, and she mentioned this location to me as well. it looks beautiful, but the idea of 'interviewing' for a spot there kind of stresses me out :). has diane been a good resource for you?
i hope you are not bothered by this lengthy post. clearly i am at the end of my workday here! i would love to talk with you more as we both continue to plan. thanks again for all your insight, and good luck with everything!

Hi Erin,
Congrats on your engagement, how fun!!! Big Sur is such a fantastic place - there really is nowhere else like it! Those cute wooden place card holders are for sale (if they haven't sold already) through Liana on www.bigsurwedding.blogspot.com I believe she bought them and would know more details. I actually went to look at the Paion house today and its fabulous. You wouldn't be disappointed!! Sprawling, green lawns, ocean cliffs, big rocks! Beautiful!!!!
And nope, Scott and I haven't decided on the venue yet...we're thinking of just having the ceremony in big sur with just a few close family and friends, and then having the reception in Carmel. Keep an eye on my blog and I'm sure you'll get the latest news! Keep me posted about places you find too!! Good luck!
And Diane is great - so knowledgable and very friendly - I just met her for the first time today - but she seems lovely.
